Papua New Guinea

Business visit visa / Work visa

The work authorization and immigration processes for Papua New Guinea are administered by the Department of Labour and Industrial Relations, the Immigration & Citizenship Service Authority (ICA), and consular posts.

Most business visitors require a business visa, which is valid for up to 60 days per entry. Some nationals are eligible for visas-on-arrival and will be issued a single entry visa when they arrive in Papua New Guinea (PNG) at the following designated international ports of entry: Jackson’s International Airport, Daru Airport, Wutung Airport (Vanimo), and Kagamuga Airport (Mt. Hagen). Visitors who enter the country from other ports must obtain a valid Entry Permit before travel.

Foreign nationals on short-term assignments (30 days or less) can apply for a Restricted Employment Visa (REV). REVs can be issued up to four times per year.

Long-term work permits are suitable for foreign nationals seeking long-term work authorization (from one to three years). Applicants must verify whether they require a professional registration before applying for a work permit (depending on their background and qualifications) and should have at least three to five years of relevant work experience.
