Brunei
Business visit visa / Work visa
Foreign nationals who intend to perform business-related activities for a short period can generally use a Professional Visit Visa (PVV), valid for up to three months. The PVV approval is obtained before the employee arrives in Brunei.
Foreign nationals may enter Brunei on a consular entry visa, visa-on-arrival, or without a visa if they hold a passport from an eligible country. Other nationals may be eligible for a visa-on-arrival at the discretion of immigration authorities.
All foreign nationals require work authorization to work in Brunei. The standard work authorization is the Employment Pass (EP) which is typically valid for two years, subject to approval by the Ministry of Energy, Labour Department, and the Immigration Department. For assignments or employment of up to six months, foreign nationals can apply for the Special Authorisation Work Pass.
Note that the Brunei authorities have wide discretion to (and do) change their procedures from time to time, particularly for Special Authorisation Work Pass applications.
