Business visit visa / Work visa

Bahrain's relatively straight-forward work authorization policy and transparent regulations provide business options for employers of foreign nationals.

Business visitors, depending on their nationality, may obtain their entry visa upon arrival in Bahrain, through an electronic portal before arrival (e-visa) or through a Bahraini consular post. Business visas allow for either single or multiple entries and a stay of up to one month, which can be further extended in-country. Some multiple-entry visas are valid for up to one year with a permissible maximum duration of stay in Bahrain for up to 90 days.

Foreign workers (other than Gulf Cooperation Council nationals, who are visa- and work authorization-exempt regardless of the duration of stay) must secure an employment contract with a local entity and obtain a work visa before they can work in Bahrain. Work authorization is generally valid for two years with a possibility of extension.

Selected nationalities may be subject to scrutiny and potential rejection of their immigration applications..
